Free Ebooks

Librarything.com

I literally signed up for a whole batch last months in a get rich quick scheme that backfired, I got the whole bunch. I don’t regret it though, because now I have a lot of free books to keep me occupied on the computer. Almost no one signs up for these batchs of books, which is why they’re so easy to get, most of them are adult romances that are self-published.

A few books I have received from Librarything:

The Cowboy Rescues a Bride by Cora Seton

Scream Vacation by Dr. I Seymour Youngblood

The Seer by Grant Palmquist

Onlinebookclub.org

Online book club is an older site but they offer free books to review, and some of them are willing to pay for the review, which was the initial reason I was attracted to this site. Currently I have reviewed three books for them, but the reviews have to be 500 words or more. The books come in any form you want, but you have to be quick to get one, they go fast. Especially when you’re new to the site.

Some books I have received from Onlinebookclub.org:

Binary Witness by Rosie Claverton

Read and Teach About the ABC's by Dennis Kaminsky

Amazon.com

An obvious one I know, but it works. Most of these are honestly not very good but they’re free and they’re books plus every now and then you come across a gem. I personally don’t use this because I usually have my hands full with other EBooks from other places but I know a lot of people who do this. Because I trust their opinion here it is, for the world to see.

Some books that are free on Amazon:

Rushed by Brian Harmon

Twin Souls by K.A. Poe

Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

Listia.com

Yes, Listia gives away free everything even EBooks. It works the same way it does with getting the physical books. Just bid and if you’re the highest bidder it’s yours. Be careful though because what you’re bidding on might get deleted before you can win, because Listia has strict copy right policy’s, so make sure it’s the owner of the book before you sign up for the bidding.

On a side note this was my get rich quick scheme. Didn’t work.

Some books available on Listia:

The Silmarillion by J.R.R. Tolkein

Learn To Speak Japanese by E-language

Divergent by Veronica Roth

I am always on the lookout for new ways to get free books, and currently have new leads. When they're confirmed I will share them with you.

WeGivebooks.org

These novels do not download on your kindle or anything like that, but they are free. You just can’t take them with you. You open them on the website, read them there and then leave them. But they’re children’s books, the highest reading level range is 10 and the lowest is 0. Plus for every book you read they donate an actual book to someone who needs them.

Some books that are available at WeGiveBooks.org

A Hunt for Clues by Anne Miranda

Max's Dragon Shirt by Rosemary Wells

Madeline by Ludwig Bemelmans

Kobobooks.com

Kobobooks is a lot like other sites that offer free EBooks; honestly it doesn’t have much to set it aside from other sites. But it seems like its book selection is much better than that of other sites. Not all of the books are free, and they don’t offer the books in all formats but they can be downloaded on your computer, or other reading device. You can’t read it on their website.

Some Books that are available on Kobobooks.com are:

The Island by Jen Minkman

The Unofficial Harry Potter Cookbook Presents: 10 Summertime Treats by Dinah Bucholz

10 Ways to Make Money in a FREE World (Penguin Specials) by Nicholas Lovell

Gutenberg.org

Gutenberg.org is basically a giant free library online, they have over 45,000 free books online at their website. They also have some CD’s and movies that you can get for free too, but none of the big new stuff. You can also volunteer to proofread some of the things that come in for them, usually just a page but you can also request whole books. (Note you will not be paid for this.) They also have online publishing for some of the newer authors out there. Please be warned that most of it is either very contemporary literature or some older books.

Fun fact: This is the worlds oldest digital library.

Some books that Gutenberg.org has:

Les Misérables by Victor Hugo

A Naval Venture by T. T. Jeans

1492 by Mary Johnston

Bookbub.com

Bookbub is not so much a place that contains free books but it alerts you about when free EBooks come out that you're interested in. It even has a an email system where it alerts you to the free and half price books that are out on sites like Amazon, Barns and Noble, and anywhere else. It lets you kow how long that particular deal will last as well. I've actually found a few books I like from it.

Some books available:

Undercover With The Hottie by Juli Alexander

Wander's Escape bySimon Goodson

Remember The Moon by Abigail Carter

baenebooks.com

This website has few free books, and as far as  can tell there are none of the big wig authors available. Also theres also a lot of books for sale from independent authors, some of which the website is the publisher for. It also lists other publishes amoung it's ranks. When you buy one of their books it's available in all format's not just one.

Some books that are available:

Lady Susan by Jane Austen

Booklikes.com

Like all sites that have both physical and eBooks, these eBooks are more plentiful and easier to get, because everyone comes for the physical books. These books will probably not be free anywhere else, so this is definitely worth looking into, because most of these are new authors who sell their books on Amazon and those books are overpriced. You get to it by going to your dashboard and selecting Giveaways.

Some books available:

Scouting for the Reaper by Jacob Appel

A Wicked Game by Evie Knight

The Light of the World by Randi Black

Netgalley.com

This website is more for the professional bloggers and reviewers, it works like librarything in which you request EBooks from the author and they select who they want to read and review there book. You have to put your qualifications up first before it's likely that you'll be selected, like your Goodreads account or your reviewing website. They will let you know a few weeks after you requested it if you're declined or not. Once you get popular enough on the site you may get automatic approvals from certain authors.

Some Free Books Available:

Juliets Nurse by Lois Leveen

The Cure for Dreaming by Cat Winters

Oh Yeah, Audrey by Tucker Shaw

Magickeys.com

This is a children’s website. It’s mostly for those just learning how to read or children with low reading levels. It’s all free, but they’re not for download, you read them on the actual website. But they do offer other child activities. Such as, quizzes, riddles, and some links to phonics. There are limited pictures on the book but the site is a good learning source, with features such as you can click the word and it will say it for you. Most of the books you read yourself though.

On a side not you can submit your children’s story’s to them, but you will not be paid.

Some books available:

The Little Gingerbread Man by Carol Moore

Invisible Alligators by Hayes Roberts

The Brave Monkey Pirate by Hayes Roberts

Manybooks.net

This is a fairly basic website, complete with old and new books for you to download, in a lot of different formats. They also show you where you can get different downloadable versions of the book from other sites, or you can get it directly from them. However it seems that the site is pretty dead in reviews and such, but still usable and the admins still add novels to it, every day. Most of the books are older ones from authors like H.G. Wells or Charles Dickens.

Some free books available:

Two Years and Four Months in a Lunatic Asylum by Hiram Chase

Sonia Married by Stephen McKenna

Monk by Sir Julian Stafford Corbett

Smashwords.com

This website like so many others has an entire section just dedicated to a free selection of EBooks. Actually when I get books from Authors on Librarything, this is often the format they choose to send me books. They have a nice selection that ranges from children’s books, cook books, all the way to erotica. You have to make an account with them, and download it from there site, or you can read it without downloading. It’s a very convenient site.

Some free books they have available:

After The Darkness: Episode One by SunHi Mistwalker

Changes (Family Portrait V.1) by Gillian Felix

Free Funny Jokes (125+ Hilarious Jokes!) By Johnny B. Laughing

Ebook2u.org

I’m actually really impressed with this website. You can’t download the books, but there are a lot of popular ones on here that you can read on their website. I mean modernly popular by the way, for those of you looking for some YA love and such. Their books are in alphabetical order but does not come with any pictures, so know what you’re looking for beforehand.

Some books they have available:

The Lightning Thief (Percy Jackson and the Olympians #1 by Rick Riordan

A Time to Kill (Jake Brigance #1) by John Grisham

Fifty Shades of Grey (Fifty Shades #1) by E.L. James

Xpressobooktours.com

This site has a limited amount of review copies, and there is a due date for the review if you’re approved. They also have information on open book tours that you can sign up for, these book tours varies, some are just hosting your book reviews, and others allow you to host your own book review. Note that most of these are books in the romantic genre. It’s a very easy site to use.
